At Little Explorers Early Childhood Education & Care, our classrooms are communities of discovery. We are seeking an Infant Lead Teacher who brings warmth, professionalism and a vision to a learning environment where children explore, question, create and grow through purposeful play and inquiry.

The Infant Lead Teacher plays a critical role in preparing children for exploration, communication, and early learning through nurturing relationships and thoughtfully designed sensory experiences. In this role, Lead Teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care regulations. Teachers plan experiences that support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development while maintaining compliance with health, safety and supervision requirements. Documentation, observation and family communication are integral components of the teaching role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, nurturing care that supports secure attachment and emotional development
  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate sensory rich learning experiences that encourage exploration and early discovery
  • Support early communication, motor development, and cognitive growth through intentional interactions and play
  • Observe and document developmental milestones to guide curriculum planning and individualized care
  • Maintain consistent routines that support feeding, sleeping, diapering, and daily care needs
  • Create a calm, safe, and engaging environment aligned with infants’ developmental stages
  • Partner closely with families through daily communication and shared observations
  • Ensure consistent supervision and compliance with all Massachusetts EEC health, safety and supervision regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom and follow all sanitation hygiene practices
  • Mentor and collaborate with teachers to ensure high-quality, consistent care

Requirements

  • EEC Lead Teacher Certification (Infant/Toddler)
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field (required)
  • Must pass state and company required background checks.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Lead Teacher or strong teacher ready to step into a lead role.
  • Experience with inquiry based, Reggio-inspired, or play based learning (required)
  • Effective communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. multiple times a day.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, sit, run and move around most of the day.
